Το 27ο WordPress Meetup Θεσσαλονίκης έρχεται σύντομα και φέρνει κάτι διαφορετικό! Αυτή τη φορά, αντί για κάποια ενδιαφέρουσα ομιλία, θα ξεκινήσουμε μία σειρά από πρακτικά workshops.
Αυτά τα workshops, θα έχουν ως σκοπό τη συνεργατική δημιουργία ενός custom block theme, και τη δημοσίευση του στο theme directory του WordPress.
Μέσω αυτών των πρακτικών workshops, θα έχουμε τη δυνατότητα να δούμε πολλές και ενδιαφέρουσες πτυχές που σχετίζονται με την ανάπτυξη ενός σύγχρονου custom block theme. Για παράδειγμα θα εξερευνήσουμε τις δυνατότητες του αρχείου theme.json, τον site editor του FSE, τη χρήση των templates, τη διαχείριση assets (stylesheets κ.λπ.), τη δημιουργία blocks με PHP, JavaScript και React και άλλα. Παράλληλα θα χρησιμοποιήσουμε εργαλεία όπως το Git και το Slack, τα οποία θα μας βοηθήσουν και θα υποστηρίξουν τη συνεργασία μας για την ανάπτυξη αυτού του theme!
Το Σάββατο 5 Νοεμβρίου 2022 στις 12:00, θα ξεκινήσουμε τη σειρά των workshops με μια σύντομη παρουσίαση του project, θα δούμε τα εργαλεία που θα χρησιμοποιήσουμε στην πορεία, και θα κλείσουμε με τη δημιουργία του κεντρικού σκελετού του theme.
Καλό θα ήταν να έχετε ένα laptop μαζί σας (αν και δεν είναι απαραίτητο).
Θα σας περιμένουμε όλους από κοντά, για να ανταλλάξουμε απόψεις και να συζητήσουμε για WordPress! Η συμμετοχή είναι απολύτως ανοιχτή και δωρεάν!

The 27th WordPress Thessaloniki Meetup is coming soon and brings something different! This time, instead of an interesting talk, we will start a series of hands-on workshops.
Those workshops aim at the co-operative creation of a custom block theme, and its publishing in the WordPress theme directory.
Through those hands-on workshops, we will have the ability to see many interesting aspects of the development of a modern block theme. For example, we will explore the possibilities of the theme.json file, the FSE site editor, the usage of template, assets management (stylesheets, etc), the creation of blocks with PHP, JavaScript, and React, and many more. We will also use tools like Git and Slack, which will help us and support our cooperation for the development of this theme!
On Saturday, November 5 2022 at 12:00, we will start the workshops series with a short presentation and overview of the project, will introduce and set up the tools that we will use going forward, and will conclude the session with the creation of the theme's main skeleton.
It would be great if you could bring your laptops (although not mandatory).
Will be awaiting for you to meet in person, change opinions and talk about WordPress! Participation is open to everyone and completely free!
